Three weeks can go by in a blink! Three weeks since my last post, wow! That's pretty much how I treated my eating habits in the last 3 weeks -- not at all. Three weeks ago I was pleasantly surprised to be down 1.6 lbs, I think I got an extremely false confidence in hitting 12 lbs in 9 weeks. For some unknown reason 12 lbs was seeming like a lot to me. My erroneous thought process went something like this -- People lose 10 lbs on diets all the time but I just lost 12, which is nearly 15 a whole new realm. Oh no, no foolish girl, the next week after making (and indulging in) Christmas cookies and other treats I gained +2.2 lbs and then last week I just didn't even go. I know tomorrow will not be good but I'm just hoping I didn't do too much damage, I would estimate another +2.5 lbs. Tomorrow begins my week 13 and I am not looking back, gaining weight while paying to lose weight is so 2010 and I am all about 2011!
On the other hand, I did make some progress in the last 3 weeks. I have been getting my runs in and I am feeling really good about that. I would definitely put myself in the 6-10 miles per week category. Although, I still haven't run more than 4 miles during any given run. I am still mulling over a few training plans before deciding on which to use. They are all pretty similar at the beginning so I have time to decide. I also signed up for the half marathon!! I am doing it with a few friends March 26, as of now, that's about 12 weeks away. This should be a really different experience, which is what I want. I want crowds, cheering, possibly bands. I think that would get me so pumped. Two years ago when I did my first half I got pumped for the one guy with a horn! When I signed up, there was an Athena category (+160 lbs) but I wouldn't dare put myself in it even though technically I should. There is still hope in my heart that I can be less than that by race day. We'll see.
In other news I decided to take the orientation at the gym for the weight machines. I loved them!! Plus the computer keeps track of everything for you and I like to follow my own stats. I think I am going to weight train on my cross training days for whatever training plan I decide on. My gym is the YMCA, which is such a nice collection of people. I really enjoy going there, I recognize people and we say hello, its a nice community feeling. Anyway, an older lady who referred to her chest and mine as "The girls" gave me the orientation I am hoping she set everything correctly and I don't get injured.
