2011 is feeling really good to me so far!
Yesterday, I faced the music or rather all the junk I ate over the holidays and got weighed in. I was up 0.8 lbs which almost prompted a happy dance next to the scale since I was expecting a +2.5 lbs. Since my previous weigh in was +2.2 that means the second half of December has me up 3 lbs, luckily the first half of December cancels it out making December a wash. On one hand, I'm happy with gaining only 3 lbs over the holidays but on the other hand I'm getting behind in my overall goal of one lb per week by roughly 3 lbs. I know what I need to do though, track my food and be more aware of the points I am eating. As they reminded us in the meeting, weight loss is a tough task but I have the directions to make it simpler. This week's meeting was very motivating. My leader is still very good but a neighbor/friend joined too and sat with me. Hopefully we can help each other.
My running is going really well! I continue to get all my runs accomplished. I just got in from my longest run yet, 4 miles. We're expecting snow this weekend so I decided to do the long run during the week. I feel really good, its such great meditation to run outside and just breath the fresh air. I still feel so heavy during my warm up and first mile but I pushed through and the next 3 miles felt good. Dare, I say it, but I felt like I could've run further. Now I just need to get my technology together (iphone apps and Garmin monitor). I got such wonderful Christmas gifts and still have not figured out how to use them! Figuring them out just before a run is not working out so well.
