Hitting 15

This week I was down only 0.8 lbs, but I am thrilled to hit 15 lbs just as week 15 of my WW membership commences.  YIPPEE!!!!!!  I would like to say I was very confident that this was going to happen but with gaining the weight over the holidays I really wasn't sure I'd be able to stay on track with my 1 lb per week goal.  I am so happy to be where I am.

I finally raised my hand at the meeting to tell about my success.  My leader gave me three silver star stickers with 5s on them.  I proudly put them on the front of my book.  So what got me to this point?  Definitely the tracking my food, loving my iphone app which makes this so much easier.  Exercise, of course.  Finally, cooking I think helps a lot.  Oh how I wish processed food were as healthy as it is easy but most of the time its just not the case, so happy to be eliminating so much of it from our diet.

There is nothing more motivating than hitting a milestone AND rewarding yourself.  For my first 5 lbs I went on a little shopping trip and bought myself jeans that are already too big!  For the second 5 lbs I got new bras.  I actually went to Nordstrom and got measured and everything.  For this next 5 lbs I need to think of a reward that I don't have to spend money on.   Spent too much at Christmas, I'll have to put my thinking cap on for this one.  My mini reward for myself (also this is good one for convenience) is buying a a small container of soup from the grocery store.  Its nice to not make lunch for yourself sometimes.  So much of the time I am on the go dropping kids off, fitting errands in before its time to pick everyone up again.  Today I had my soup and I enjoyed it very much even though it was not the Italian Wedding soup I was hoping for.

Running has been going well but I am getting a slight pain in my lower right leg.  Wondering if this is shin splints.  I really want to figure it out before it turns into a major problem.  I did 3.5 mi on Monday, today was 2 miles, this week's long run is 5 miles.  I've been having trouble getting that 4th run in each week.
