Out with the old, In with someone else's

Things have been continuing to look up this week.  I finally finished planting all the impatiens along my front walk.  I purged my kitchen pantry a bit.  Sunday was a nice visiting day with several cousins. My cousins are selling their house and in the midst of their own purging.  Despite my quest to have less, I ended up coming home with a few things.  I really love the vase and lantern I selected but I picked up some other things too.  I know they will get used so I'm not going to fret over it -- gardening gloves, a sprinkler, garden medallion thing, a basketball.

I was feeling a little down today realizing that Memorial Day is this weekend.  I was hoping to have lost a little more weight by now.  This last 15 lbs is so annoying.  I've been pretty good this week (I think).  I noticed another sign of a good week -- I keep my vitamins in one of those days of the week containers (yes, like a bonafide senior citizen) and I have better weeks when I remember to take my vitamin every day.  These days when I graze in the kitchen kill me though!  I'm having that right now.

A vase of many colors

Very happy with how it looks on the mantle.
Finally looking rather complete,
not too crowded or too sparse.

The blue lantern
adds a little touch of color
to the front steps.
